Why no Newsletter on Omkarmusik ? |

Update:
Because omkarmusik.info is slowly moving to omkarmusic.com,
you will find now a complementing system there:
www.omkarmusic.com/rss.xml to provide newsfeeds
and a newslettersystem as well to subscribe.
At the time I was working for a radio station
I had a homepage for news and articles.
I thought it was a good idea to have also a newsletter handy
to inform visitors and people listening to the shows.
I had no idea how much work there is to be done in the back
to get everything running nice and proper.
I spent hours and hours to tweak here and there,
to have subscibtion module ready, to have the component well organized.
Finally it was so time consuming I was curious of other ways.
Whats aside a newsletter ?
After having a closer look to the newsfeeds feature
of the Content Management System you are on now,
I had the impression this is the way I`d like to try.
All a user needs is a so called newsfeeds client or newsfeeds reader.
And there are tons of free newsfeeds readers available on the net.
That means you don`t have to pay for another software
and you can pick up the news you like to read
and put it to the newsfeeds reader as a non exclusive newschannel.
A newsletter is always exclusive for users.
You can subscribe to one site
and you will get the news of this particular site.
With a newsfeeds reader a user can pick up as many newsfeeds he likes.
Let`s say you like to be informed with news of an artist
and also want the news from a fansite of your choice,
this can all be organized within one reader.
You don`t get single mails from different sites,
you get all the news from all the sites of your choice within one reader.
Most newsfeeds reader can also categorize the kind of news.
So you`ll might have categories like music, jokes, newspapers
and drop the newsfeeds of a site onto a category.
Any time you are online the reader updates the news provided from the sites.
On omkarmusik you will find the protocol I use called `rss 2.0`.
This simply indicates what kind of protocol your client needs to have
to be able to receive the news of this site.
Rss 2.0 is the most common at the moment.
The complete newsfeeds adress is www.omkarmusik.info/rss.xml
Just copy and paste this adress to your reader.
If you are browsing with let`s say firefox you will find an orange antenna symbol
at the right of the adress tab at the top.
You can click on the symbol and add the newsfeed to firefox
or to a desktop newsfeeds reader and you are done.
Now you`ll get the news whenever available.
On any site you see this antenna it means the site serves also newsfeeds.
Having a newsfeeds reader open you will get all the news
a newsletter basically would provide without the need of subscription.
If you type `free newsfeeds reader` to a search engine like google
you might be surprised how many are out there ready for downloads.

 New Band Friendship on myspace.com
I joined the community of myspace.com a while ago
with a little corner introducing myself as a musician.
By the time some friendship invitations happended to appear
with other bands or single artists and radio station.
Latest friendship I would recommend to have a listen to.
Beautiful music and the description of what they are doing
fits perfectly the size.
The band calls it healing music and whatever that means
you will feel it, you will come in touch with it.
In my words I would say it`s a kind of music
wraps you with a good feeling and good vibes overall.
I`m pleased to know behind the noisy main stream
exists an individual music scene going it`s own creative ways
and the music is able to give something to listeners.
And it`s good to know few artists are present
who does not abuse music as a cash machine
to fullfill their own wet dreams.
